Description
Introduction
Fat bikes are quite similar to regular bikes, but have much wider rims and larger tires that provide enough support to ride on the snow or sand. Fat bikes are especially suitable for winter cycling. With wide tires, you could easily float on top of the snow and make your way through the winter.
This single-wall carbon fiber fat bike rim Xiphias 80-27 was designed and developed in 2021. It's super light, only 520g weight. Its design concept draws on our well-known Wild Dragon double-wall fat bike rim. It is strong due to the stable construction of triangular cross-section. To make the wheel assembly more perfect, the spoke holes of the rim are drilled at an angle. The axial direction angle and the radial direction angle are 8 degrees and 6 degrees. The profile drawing is as below.
The tire size for this model of rim is recommended at 3.5" ~ 4.8". The tire pressure is recommended at 6 ~ 19 psi.
Who is it for
The Xiphias 80-27 is ideal for:
Riders running 3.5" to 4.8" tires who want an all-season 27.5" single-wall fat bike rim.
Anyone riding snow, sand, mud and technical trails across all four seasons.
Riders who want a wider footprint than 70mm but still keep weight low.
Builders pairing it with 150mm or 197mm rear hub spacing on modern fat bike frames.
Design features
Width 80mm fits more forms of cycling and keeps riding in great stability;
Deep channel would help you easily install and take off a tire;
Small bead socket could lock tire tightly and help run tubeless perfectly;
Aero roof surface (triangle-like shape) could easily shed the dirt or mud, better to release weight during cycling;
Section of triangle's inherent feature of stability on rim design keeps rim in strong performance.
