Description
Introduction
The Wild Dragon Tri-Spoke 26" is the world's first and only carbon tri-spoke fat bike wheelset. Introduced in 2016, it was developed from the proven Wild Dragon 90mm platform, which became the world's first carbon fat bike rim in 2013.
The original Wild Dragon concept emerged from professional rider Ryan Melnyck, a former Canadian national champion in mountain cross country racing and multi-time provincial champion. His goal was simple: build a fat bike rim that could handle extreme snow, sand and mud without sacrificing stiffness or weight.
The triangular cross-section of the Wild Dragon greatly increases wheel strength. In its first stiffness test, the rim reached an outstanding result of 426 kgf — more than 4 times stiffer than a standard carbon mountain wheel. The roof surface easily sheds snow, mud and sand, and the smooth rim bed makes tire installation and removal noticeably easier.
In 2016, with the continuous maturity of the fat bike market, riders asked for a more distinctive and lower-maintenance option. NEXTIE developed the world's first carbon fiber tri-spoke fat bike wheel — the Wild Dragon Tri-Spoke. It remains the unique carbon fiber tri-spoke fat bike wheel in the world.
In 2021, NEXTIE upgraded the Wild Dragon Tri-Spoke with high-end DT Swiss 350 Big Ride hubs, making it even more reliable for loaded adventures and aggressive riding.
Since 2013, Wild Dragon has become not only a classic NEXTIE product but also a benchmark for carbon fiber fat bike rims worldwide. More than 3,000 riders across six continents ride Wild Dragon wheels today — a proud achievement for us.

The Wild Dragon Tri-Spoke 26" wheelset weighs 2340g. Recommended tire size is 4.0" to 5.2", with tire pressure between 5 and 15 psi.
