Description

Introduction

In the year of 2015 we designed and developed the RM27, RM30, AM35 and AM40 series of carbon fiber mountain rims. These four mountain rims incorporate aerodynamic design concepts, which are beautiful in appearance and extremely strong. Based on the design shape of AM40 series, we developed a DH series mountain rim with an unprecedented rim lip thickness of 4.5mm in size 26", 27.5" and 29".

The weight of model NXT27DH40 is 570g. The profile drawing of this rim is as below.

This rim could be used for Trail, Enduro, Freeride and Down Hill riding. The tire size for this model of rim is recommended at 2.1" ~ 2.85". The tire pressure is recommended at 23 ~ 38 psi.

NXT27DH40, 32 spokes, Hope boost Hub front wheel
Follow up review. It been a few months and it is holding up nicely in spite of hard riding. I decided to buy more rims and did my own build for a 29er AM40mm.

Build: NXT27DH40, 32 spokes, Hope boost Hub front wheel only. I arranged the build by email and the response from nextie was fast. After receiving the wheel I have emailed Nextie twice requesting a receipt and that the purchase can be shown in my Nextie account, so far no response. I want this for warranty purposes. Shipping was within a week to New Zealand, but was expensive. Packing could be more protective. The fragile sticker means little. The box was torn and squashed on the one side. Build quality seems good. I put the wheel in a trueing stand and it was about 4 mm off, likely due to damage done during shipping. There was 4 spokes outside a 20 % tolerance range when checked. This is easy to correct if you have a tueing stand and a spoke tension meter. Converting and mounting tubeless was easy. Used a 2.6 inch Nobbly Nick tyre Ride quality. I went for strong above weight build. Very stiff and responsive. Will post a long term review after a few months.
